PM Modi says BJP will form next government in Telangana

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed confidence that the BJP would form the next government in Telangana, saying people in the State were looking for political change.

Addressing a public meeting organised by the Telangana BJP at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, Modi said people were disappointed with both the Congress and the BRS.

He said the BJP’s recent electoral victories reflected growing public faith in the party’s governance and development model.

“Today, the people of Telangana are also saying that this time it will be the BJP’s turn in the state,” Modi said.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said Telangana had played a historic role in the BJP’s growth.

He recalled that one of the BJP’s earliest Members of Parliament had been elected from the region when the party had only two MPs nationally.

Modi said the development of India depended on the development of individual states.

He added that Telangana and Hyderabad would play a key role in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047.

The Prime Minister referred to the infrastructure and industrial projects launched earlier in the day and said they would generate employment and strengthen industrial growth.

He highlighted the Zaheerabad industrial corridor and the PM MITRA textile park in Warangal as major employment generators.

Modi also announced that the Centre had approved a new cotton mission to improve cotton production and quality.

According to him, the initiative would benefit cotton farmers in Telangana.

Modi attacks Congress, backs local production

Meanwhile, Modi criticised the Congress party and accused it of making unrealistic promises before elections.

He alleged that Congress governments failed to fulfil promises after assuming office.

The Prime Minister also accused the Congress of encouraging divisive politics.

He claimed Telangana was steadily moving away from Maoist influence.

Modi said a BJP government in Telangana would work with a “new vision and renewed commitment” for the State’s development.

The Prime Minister also spoke about global economic challenges arising from fuel prices, supply chain disruptions and international conflicts.

He urged people to reduce petrol and diesel consumption and support public transport usage.

Modi also appealed to citizens to support “Vocal for Local” and encourage indigenous products.

He further asked people to promote natural farming and reduce dependence on chemical fertilisers.

Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, BJP OBC Morcha president K. Laxman and BJP national vice-president D. K. Aruna attended the meeting.

Police imposed traffic restrictions across several routes in Hyderabad during the Prime Minister’s visit.
