Hyderabad: K. T. Rama Rao criticised the Central government over the NEET paper leak and demanded a high-level investigation along with the immediate rescheduling of the examination.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the BRS working president described the NEET paper leak as a disgrace for the NDA government and accused the Centre of failing to conduct the national eligibility test securely.
KTR said repeated examination leaks had put the future of nearly 23 lakh students at risk despite their extensive preparation for this year’s examination across the country. He alleged that the government failed to learn lessons from a similar controversy in 2024 and caused mental stress to students and parents.
“Over 100 questions were leaked just a day before the exam, highlighting serious systemic failures and resulting in the exam’s cancellation. This ongoing incompetence poses a serious challenge for students and their families,” he said.
The BRS leader stated that the repeated incidents exposed major flaws in the examination system and questioned the Centre’s ability to safeguard competitive examinations conducted for lakhs of students.
KTR seeks action over NEET paper leak
KTR demanded that the Central government initiate a thorough investigation into the NEET paper leak and take strict action against all those responsible for the incident.
He also called for the NEET examination to be conducted again at the earliest with stronger security measures to prevent further irregularities. According to KTR, the Centre should accept complete responsibility for the disruption caused to students and their families.
The BRS working president further urged the Union government to apologise to students and parents for the uncertainty and anxiety caused by the controversy surrounding the examination process.
