Hyderabad: Revenue, Housing and Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Wednesday launched a free online coaching programme for unemployed youth across Telangana preparing for government recruitment examinations.
The initiative, named ‘PSR Yuva Nestham’, was introduced through the PSR Charitable Trust in association with RC Exams. It will provide coaching to an unlimited number of eligible aspirants without charging fees.
Under the programme, candidates will receive free online coaching for one year to prepare for various competitive examinations. Furthermore, the Minister said the organisers would extend the coaching period if necessary.
Ponguleti formally launched the initiative at his chamber in the State Secretariat on October 28, coinciding with his birthday. Minister Vakiti Srihari, MP Ram Sahayam Raghuram Reddy and MLAs Vemula Veeresham and Lakshma Reddy attended the launch.
Free online coaching aims to help youth in remote areas
Addressing the gathering, Ponguleti said the programme aimed to improve access to competitive examination coaching for unemployed youth seeking government jobs.
He explained that the online platform would allow candidates to attend coaching sessions from their homes. As a result, aspirants would not need to travel to Hyderabad for examination preparation.
The Minister particularly highlighted the difficulties faced by unemployed youth living in remote parts of Telangana. He said the initiative would help candidates avoid travel and accommodation expenses while accessing coaching regardless of their location.
Moreover, Ponguleti stressed that the programme would provide quality educational support to candidates who might otherwise struggle to afford coaching.
PSR Charitable Trust to cover coaching and study material costs
The Minister said conventional coaching for competitive examinations could cost at least ₹1 lakh per candidate. Additionally, he noted that books and other study materials alone could cost between ₹14,000 and ₹30,000.
He said these expenses placed a financial burden on unemployed candidates preparing for government recruitment examinations. Therefore, the PSR Charitable Trust would bear the entire cost of the free online coaching programme, including books and other necessary study materials.
Ponguleti said candidates would receive coaching and learning resources without paying any fees. The Minister also reiterated that the programme would initially run for one year, with an extension if required.
Through PSR Yuva Nestham, the trust aimed to make competitive examination preparation accessible to unemployed youth throughout Telangana.
