Vivek Venkatswamy urges nurses to master German language

Hyderabad: Minister for Labour Employment and Mines Vivek Venkatswamy urged nurses undergoing training under the Triple Win Programme to focus on German language training and communication skills to build successful global careers.

Interacting with trainees during an event organised by TOMCOM at Tourism Plaza in Hyderabad on Tuesday, the Minister said Telangana youth possess the potential to excel internationally if they adapt to new cultures and opportunities with confidence and dedication.

He said working in Germany offers major career opportunities but also demands adjustment to a new language, work environment, and culture. However, he stated that dedication and hard work could help individuals succeed.

“Nurses play a vital role in giving confidence and hope to patients. Half the illness disappears with the reassurance provided by nurses,” Vivek Venkatswamy said while appreciating the nursing profession.

The Minister stated that TOMCOM is creating international-level employment opportunities for youth and said the current programme marked only the beginning. He added that better performance by the present batch in Germany would create more opportunities for Telangana youth in future.

Extending greetings on International Nurses Day, Vivek Venkatswamy described nursing as one of the noblest professions. He advised trainees to focus strongly on learning German, stressing that communication skills are essential for providing healthcare and administering medicines correctly.

German language training key to overseas careers

Recalling his business journey, the Minister said he started with just Rs. 5 lakh and faced difficulties while seeking a bank loan in Chennai because he could not communicate in the local language. He said the experience taught him the importance of language proficiency and communication skills.

Referring to actor Vijay as an example, Vivek Venkatswamy said social media, technology, and communication skills could help individuals achieve remarkable success. He encouraged trainees to dedicate at least one hour daily to improving their skills and eventually become comfortable reading books in German.

The Minister revealed that the State government allocated special funds in the budget for TOMCOM initiatives. He also assured that he would discuss with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy the establishment of additional nursing colleges and increasing nursing seats across Telangana.

Labour, Employment and Training Commissioner Harichandana shared her own experience of learning Hindi and encouraged trainees to practice German regularly with friends during their free time.

“You too must work hard to learn a new language. The State government, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and Minister Vivek Venkatswamy are taking special initiatives to create overseas job opportunities for youth,” she said.

TOMCOM Director Kanthi Wesley said TOMCOM signed an agreement with Germany’s Federal Employment Agency. He said 46 nurses completed German language training so far, 15 received offer letters, and seven are already working in Germany.
