Revanth Reddy to distribute smart ration cards in Sangareddy on August 15

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will distribute smart ration cards in Sangareddy on August 15 as part of the Telangana government’s welfare initiative.

Revanth Reddy will formally launch the distribution programme in Sangareddy during his visit to the district.

Ahead of the visit, TPCC working president T. Jayaprakash Reddy, popularly known as Jagga Reddy, inspected preparations on Monday.

District Collector Prateek Jain and SP Paritosh Pankaj accompanied him during the inspection. They reviewed the helipad at Tara Government Degree College and the public meeting venue at Ambedkar Stadium.

The officials and organisers also received instructions on arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit.

Jagga Reddy alleged that the previous BRS government had issued ration cards to only a limited number of eligible people during its decade in power.

The Congress government, however, plans to distribute new smart ration cards to 1.05 crore beneficiaries across Telangana, he said. He credited Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy with the decision.

Smart ration cards programme expected to draw 50,000 people

Jagga Reddy said the Congress government would honour its commitment to eligible beneficiaries. He described the initiative as part of that approach.

Although the programme is an official government event, the Congress party will give Revanth Reddy a grand welcome in Sangareddy, Jagga Reddy said.

The public meeting at Ambedkar Stadium is expected to draw around 50,000 people. Organisers are making preparations to conduct the event on a large scale, he added.

Officials and organisers continued work at the helipad and public meeting venue ahead of the Chief Minister’s scheduled visit.
