Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu urged Congress leaders and workers on Thursday to prioritise graduate voter enrolment ahead of the Hyderabad–Rangareddy–Mahabubnagar Graduates’ MLC elections.
Addressing a preparatory meeting at Mallika Gardens in Shamshabad, he called for a coordinated campaign to register every eligible graduate. He directed party workers to prepare a comprehensive booth-level strategy and strengthen coordination between senior and newly inducted leaders.
Moreover, Sridhar Babu said the Congress should aim to secure its highest victory margin from the erstwhile Rangareddy district. Sridhar Babu called for special registration drives in villages, mandals, municipalities and municipal corporations across the constituency.
He instructed Congress workers to identify eligible graduates and assist them in completing voter registration applications accurately. Additionally, he emphasised the importance of monitoring enrolment activities at the local level to ensure that eligible graduates completed registration.
The Minister said party leaders and workers should coordinate their efforts to strengthen graduate voter enrolment ahead of the elections. He also stressed the need for systematic booth-level planning and cooperation among party representatives.
Congress asked to highlight government programmes
Expressing confidence in the Congress party’s electoral prospects, Sridhar Babu urged workers to publicise the state government’s development and welfare initiatives. He specifically asked them to highlight government job recruitment and skill development programmes among graduate voters.
Furthermore, he called for stronger public outreach and social media engagement to counter criticism from the BRS and BJP. The Minister alleged that opposition parties were spreading misinformation and urged Congress workers to respond through direct communication with voters.
He also asked party representatives to highlight the opposition parties’ previous record before the electorate. Sridhar Babu said workers who performed well in graduate voter enrolment and election campaigning would receive due recognition within the Congress party.
