Seethakka reviews welfare progress and housing development in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, and Women & Child Welfare, Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), inaugurated a new Indiramma house for Bayya Prameela at BC Colony in Venkatapur mandal, Mulugu District. Speaking at the event, she said the Indiramma Housing Scheme stands as a strong symbol of dignity and livelihood for the people with low incomes.

The minister said the Congress government continues to work for the upliftment of every section of society. Its aim, she explained, is to eliminate poverty through steady development and welfare. “The Indiramma Housing Scheme fulfils the dreams of the people with low incomes. Our government supports both farmers and workers. To strengthen them, we are offering a ₹500 bonus per quintal on fine rice,” Seethakka said.

Seethakka noted that the government waived farm loans worth ₹21,000 crore for farmers with debts below ₹2 lakh. Within nine months, it also allotted ₹22,500 crore for building 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses across Telangana. She said the construction of these houses would happen in three planned phases.

Moreover, she said the government issued seven lakh new ration cards and added new members to 17 lakh existing ones. These efforts, she said, show that the Congress administration is ensuring both welfare and progress. “Development and welfare are moving forward together, reflecting our government’s commitment,” she added.

Minister criticises BRS for ignoring the needs of the poor

Seethakka accused the previous BRS government of neglecting public welfare. She said the earlier rulers focused on commissions in the Kaleshwaram Project instead of addressing people’s needs. According to her, the BRS administration failed to build Indiramma houses, which provide dignity and safety to poor families.

District Congress president Paidakula Ashok, TPCC general secretary Malladi Ram Reddy, and local leaders Milukuri Ailayya, Jangili Ravi, Chennoju Srinu, Mamidishetty Koti, Anneboyina Raju, Zakir, and Venkatesh attended the event.
