Vivek lays foundation for Venkatapur power substation, announces ₹3 crore

Hyderabad: Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy on Wednesday laid the foundation for a 33/11 kV Venkatapur power substation in Mandamarri mandal.

Vivek said the government had sanctioned ₹3 crore to address power interruption problems and undertake development works in Venkatapur Gram Panchayat. He directed officials to use the sanctioned funds to carry out development works in phases across the gram panchayat.

The Venkatapur power substation was planned to address electricity supply disruptions affecting the village. The Minister performed the bhoomi puja for the project during his visit to Venkatapur. Vivek also reviewed other development requirements in the village. He instructed officials to ensure proper implementation of the works proposed under the ₹3 crore allocation.

Along with the Venkatapur power substation, the Minister focused on housing and other development measures for local residents. Vivek directed village Sarpanch Segyam Venkatesh and officials to take steps to ensure eligible beneficiaries received houses under the second phase of the Indiramma housing programme.

After the programme, the Minister met families affected by a recent road accident in Naspur. He expressed his condolences to the families of those who died in the accident. DCC president P. Raghunath Reddy attended the programme along with Mandamarri Tahsildar P. Satish Kumar and MPDO Rajeshwar.

Electricity department officials were also present during the foundation ceremony. Village sarpanches Segyam Venkatesh, Penchala Madhu, Punnam, Rantenki Srilatha and Bachali Ramulu participated in the programme.

Mandamarri Congress president Kadari Jeevan, SC Cell mandal president Velpula Shankar and Block Congress president Ramchander also attended. Deputy Sarpanch Siddula Rajeswari, ward members, officials from various gram panchayats and villagers were among those present.

The Minister said the sanctioned ₹3 crore would support phased development works in Venkatapur Gram Panchayat while addressing local electricity problems.
