TGSPDCL upgrades Lenin Nagar substation to boost power supply

Hyderabad: TGSPDCL completed a power capacity upgrade at the 33/11 kV Lenin Nagar Substation in Saroornagar Circle. The Lenin Nagar upgrade increased the PTR capacity from 8 MVA to 12.5 MVA.

The enhanced PTR was charged at 20:38 hours on August 20, 2026. The Saroornagar Circle operations team completed the work along with teams from the lines, operations, testing and protection wings.

According to TGSPDCL, the upgrade will improve the voltage profile and reliability of power supply in several areas. Around 14,000 electricity services are expected to benefit from the increased network capacity.

Lenin Nagar power upgrade covers several localities

The improved network will serve Triveni Nagar, Udyog Nagar, Prashanth Nagar and Bheeshma Nagar. It will also benefit Lokayuktha Colony, Sai Nagar and Badangpet Village.

The augmentation forms part of TGSPDCL’s efforts to strengthen its network and meet rising electricity demand. The utility said the upgraded infrastructure would support a more reliable power supply for consumers.

The Saroornagar Circle team carried out the work with officials from the DE/Lines, DE/Operations, DE/TRE and Protection, DE/Lines and Wing, and Operation and Protection Wing.
