Hyderabad: Former Minister and MLA Sabitha Indra Reddy on Wednesday urged the government to resolve civic issues in Badangpet and Meerpet areas.
She met district in-charge Minister D. Sridhar Babu and submitted a representation regarding pending public problems in both regions.
Civic issues raised in Meerpet and Badangpet
Sabitha Indra Reddy requested the government to reduce house taxes in the Meerpet Municipal Corporation area as residents were facing a heavy financial burden.
She also sought a solution to the 33 KV high-tension power line issue in Badangpet.
The MLA urged the government to speed up construction of double-bedroom houses and allot them to eligible beneficiaries from poor families.
In addition, she requested construction of a flyover at Balapur crossroads to address growing traffic congestion in the area.
Sabitha Indra Reddy also appealed for permission to build a public swimming pool under GHMC supervision to improve public health facilities.
Civic issues linked to water and zoning concerns
The MLA urged authorities to resolve HMDA master plan issues related to conversion green zones and residential zones in Almasguda.
She further requested officials to ensure supply of 20 litres of free drinking water to every family in slum areas through Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board services.
According to Sabitha Indra Reddy, Minister Sridhar Babu responded positively to the representation and assured that officials would review the issues and take necessary action.
