KBR Park flyover works to be expedited: Karnan

Hyderabad: KBR Park flyover works will be expedited, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan said on Monday after inspecting the ongoing construction near Park Hyatt Hotel at Road No. 2 in Banjara Hills.

During the field visit, conducted along with Chief Engineer Sahadev Ratnakar, officials briefed him on the progress of the project. They said excavation for all six pier foundations had been completed. In addition, the Plain Cement Concrete bed works for the three piers were finished.

Officials further informed that steel fabrication for the raft foundations would begin on Tuesday. The Commissioner noted that the works were progressing without disrupting traffic flow, which he described as a positive development.

However, he directed the executing agency, Mega Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd., to speed up the pace. He asked the agency to deploy additional machinery and manpower to ensure the timely completion of the KBR Park flyover project.

Karnan stressed that faster execution was essential to minimise inconvenience and deliver the project on schedule. At the same time, he emphasised maintaining quality standards while accelerating construction.

The inspection was attended by engineering officials, including the Executive Engineer (Projects), Deputy Executive Engineer and Assistant Executive Engineer. Representatives of the executing agency were also present during the review.

The KBR Park flyover is part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow in key areas of Hyderabad, particularly in the busy Banjara Hills corridor.
