Hyderabad: The Nalgonda X Roads–Owaisi Junction corridor in South Hyderabad will be operational by April 2026. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan confirmed this during a field inspection on Tuesday. The development of Nalgonda X Roads is a significant milestone for the area.
The 2,530-metre-long main flyover is under construction via Saidabad and IS Sadan. It is part of a conflict-free traffic corridor aimed at decongesting key stretches in South Hyderabad, including Nalgonda X Roads. The project, being implemented under EPC/turnkey mode, is estimated to cost ₹620 crore. Officials informed the Commissioner that 80 percent of the work has been completed.
During the inspection, Karnan instructed engineers and contractors to accelerate the remaining works at Nalgonda X Roads. They were to maintain the April 2026 deadline. He also directed officials to secure the necessary traffic diversion permissions for the Saidabad–Dhobighat Junction segment to prevent delays in execution.
To ensure uninterrupted traffic flow after completion, Karnan emphasized the urgent need to finalize land acquisition for the service roads linked to the corridor.
Charminar Zonal Commissioner Srinivas Reddy, Executive Engineer B. Gopal, and other senior GHMC officials accompanied the Commissioner during the review.
