Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said on Tuesday that the government would extend full support for Vaddera community development across Telangana.
Addressing a gathering in Nalgonda, he said the community played a key role in infrastructure growth. He described its members as symbols of hard work, especially in well-digging, road laying and construction.
Reddy said he would raise the issue of representation with the Chief Minister. He aimed to secure at least one nominated post for the community, he added.
The minister also referred to pending bills of about Rs.140 crore faced by Vaddera contractors. He said the issue had been taken up with the Chief Minister. The dues were later cleared, providing relief.
He further announced financial support from his SDF funds for a community building. He said efforts would be made to complete the project soon.
Vaddera community development and political representation
Komatireddy said Vaddera community development required political empowerment. He added that youth from the community should enter public life and emerge as leaders.
Reddy noted that the community lacked representation in the Assembly. He said the matter would be raised with the Chief Minister before the next elections.
Reddy also called for unity among members. He assured that he would remain accessible to address their concerns.
Mayor Burri Chaitanya Srinivas Reddy, MBC Chairman Jaipal and other leaders attended the event.
