Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police and key government agencies reviewed monsoon preparedness, road works and traffic management measures at a joint meeting.
Cyberabad Police convened the meeting to improve commuter safety and maintain smoother traffic movement across the Commissionerate. Senior officials from several departments attended the discussions.
The meeting covered damaged roads, potholes, congested junctions and traffic infrastructure. Officials also discussed measures to tackle waterlogging during the monsoon.
Commissioner of Police Dr. M. Ramesh, IPS, led the police representation at the meeting. Srijana, Commissioner of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, also attended.
Ashok Reddy, Managing Director of HMWS&SB, and Jitesh V Patil, CMD of TGSPDCL, joined the discussions. K. Shashanka, IAS, VC&MD of TGIIC, also took part.
Joint CP (Traffic) Sunpreet Singh attended along with traffic and law-and-order police officials. DCPs from Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Quthbullapur also participated.
Traffic-1 and Traffic-2 ADCsP, CMC Zonal Commissioners and engineering officials joined the meeting. HYDRAA staff and representatives from HGCL, R&B, NHAI and MoRTH were also present.
Cyberabad monsoon preparedness targets road and traffic gaps
Officials prioritised immediate repairs for damaged roads and potholes across the Commissionerate. They also identified road widening as a requirement at congested locations.
The agencies discussed developing and improving free-lefts at important junctions. These measures aimed to reduce bottlenecks and support smoother vehicle movement.
Meanwhile, the meeting focused on identifying waterlogging hotspots across different zones. Police and civic agencies planned joint action to clear such locations quickly during monsoon conditions.
The traffic infrastructure plan also included new signal installations. Officials further discussed restoring signals that had stopped functioning.
Pedestrian infrastructure formed another part of the discussions. Agencies considered developing footpaths to improve safety for people travelling on foot.
Utility relocation also emerged as a key requirement. Officials planned to shift electrical poles and other utility infrastructure that obstructed carriageways.
Cyberabad Police also stressed coordination among the participating departments. Agencies will conduct joint field inspections within defined timelines to identify and address traffic problems.
The meeting sought quicker action on bottlenecks through coordinated field-level work. Officials will need to work together to resolve road, drainage and traffic-related issues across the Commissionerate.
Cyberabad Police said the participating agencies remained committed to responsive, citizen-focused services. The agencies also aimed to support uninterrupted and safer travel across the city.
The discussions linked monsoon readiness with broader road and traffic improvements. As a result, the participating departments will coordinate repairs, infrastructure work and waterlogging response.
