TGSPDCL CMD reviews power network under monsoon preparedness drive

Hyderabad: TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil conducted a field inspection under the Monsoon preparedness drive as part of the statewide “Poles and Lines Special Drive – Walk Along the Line” programme.

Patil participated in inspections at Anand Nagar Colony under the Khairatabad Circle on the second day of the initiative. The exercise forms part of the power utility’s efforts to strengthen network reliability ahead of the monsoon season.

Monsoon preparedness drive focuses on network inspection

During the inspection, which took place between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., Patil carried out a detailed survey of the power distribution network. He reviewed the condition of electrical lines, poles, distribution transformers, jumpers and service connections.

Furthermore, the CMD examined other critical infrastructure connected to power distribution operations. He directed officials to immediately address deficiencies identified during the inspection.

The instructions covered pending rectification works, line clearance issues, damaged electric poles and other factors affecting supply quality. According to officials, the Monsoon preparedness drive aims to strengthen the distribution network before heavy rains begin.

Monsoon preparedness drive emphasises safety and consumer service

Patil instructed field staff to remain accessible to consumers and respond promptly to complaints. He also stressed the importance of maintaining professional standards during field operations. Moreover, he directed employees to strictly follow the prescribed dress code.

The CMD emphasised the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment, line tools and other safety gear while carrying out maintenance activities. He said worker safety remained a priority during the implementation of the Monsoon preparedness drive.

Monsoon preparedness drive targets uninterrupted power supply

To reduce disruptions during the rainy season, Patil instructed officials to accelerate maintenance works on feeders, transformers and LT and HT networks. In addition, he called for effective implementation of tree-pruning and line-clearance activities. He also directed teams to undertake preventive maintenance measures across the network.

The CMD advised officers to continuously monitor their respective service areas and address potential issues before they affect consumers. He said proactive action under the Monsoon preparedness drive would help ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply during the monsoon season.
