Hyderabad: Ensuring uninterrupted Muharram power supply during the upcoming observances and the ongoing monsoon season, TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil conducted an extensive field inspection in Hyderabad’s Old City on Sunday.
Acting on the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the CMD reviewed electricity supply arrangements and emergency preparedness measures.
He directed officials and staff working in the Hyderabad Core Urban Region (CURE) to remain on high alert.
Furthermore, he instructed them to take all precautionary measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply even during heavy rains and emergency situations.
The CMD also inspected the route of the historic Bibi Ka Alam procession scheduled during Muharram.
The route extends for nearly nine kilometres from Bibi Ka Alawa in Dabeerpura to Masjid-e-Ilahi in Chaderghat.
Jitesh V. Patil reviewed power infrastructure, safety measures and contingency plans along the procession route with departmental officials.

The CMD directed officials to ensure that devotees and the general public face no inconvenience during the Muharram observances.
Additionally, he asked officials to strengthen the power distribution network wherever necessary.
He suggested installing additional Distribution Transformers (DTRs) to meet increased demand during the festival period.
Meanwhile, Jitesh V. Patil visited the Asmangadh area and assessed the local electricity supply situation.
He instructed field staff to remain vigilant throughout the monsoon season and during Muharram celebrations.
Officials should respond promptly to consumer complaints and attend to power-related issues without delay, he said.
The CMD also called for special monitoring during the festival period to prevent disruptions in electricity supply.
Moreover, he directed all emergency response teams to remain prepared to handle unforeseen situations.
Chief Engineer (Metro Zone) Bikshapathi, Hyderabad South Circle officials, Asmangadh Divisional Engineer Vishnuvardhan, Charminar Divisional Engineer Sridhar and other electricity department officials participated in the inspection.
