Hyderabad: The Telangana government has appointed senior IAS officer Sanjay Jaju as the state’s next Chief Secretary. He will assume office on June 30 after the retirement of incumbent Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao.
The appointment followed the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet for Jaju’s repatriation to the Telangana cadre at the request of the state government. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s government selected Jaju after considering senior officers for the top bureaucratic post.
Jaju belongs to the 1992 batch of the Indian Administrative Service. During his career, he served in the unified Andhra Pradesh and later in Telangana. He previously held key positions as Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Commissioner of Civil Supplies.

Jaju also played an important role in developing citizen service platforms, including MeeSeva, during his tenure in the information technology sector.
Later, he served on Central deputation in senior positions. He worked as Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting before taking charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.

Following his repatriation to Telangana, Jaju will take charge immediately after K. Ramakrishna Rao retires on June 30. The appointment marks a key administrative transition for the state government.
