Hyderabad: The Telangana Private Colleges Managements Association continued its indefinite shutdown for the fourth straight day, demanding that the state government immediately release pending fee reimbursement dues.
Private colleges press for release of fee reimbursement dues
Association Chief Ramesh said the government ignored repeated requests on pending reimbursements, forcing managements to keep their colleges closed. “We had no other option but to protest through closure,” he said.
Ramesh added that all private colleges across Telangana remained closed for the past four days. He urged the government to release 50 percent of the ₹10,000 crore dues right away to reduce financial strain on institutions.
He noted that several colleges could not conduct examinations because most teachers stayed away from duties. The association urged the government to clear the remaining dues in installments over the next ten months.
Student unions in many districts also staged protests, demanding that the government release fee reimbursement and scholarship arrears without delay.
