Hyderabad: LB Nagar Traffic Police carried out temporary repairs on pothole-ridden service roads beneath the Sagar Ring Road flyover to improve traffic movement and reduce the risk of accidents.
The service roads in the LB Nagar constituency had developed several potholes and craters, causing inconvenience to motorists. Recent rainfall further damaged the road surface and disrupted the smooth flow of traffic.
Instead of waiting for official repairs, traffic police launched a voluntary effort to improve road conditions. The initiative aimed to ensure public safety and ease congestion. Traffic Assistant Commissioner of Police Naveen Reddy directed the repair work. Traffic Inspector Venkateshwarlu and Reserve Inspector Malla Reddy supervised the operation.
LB Nagar Traffic Police undertake temporary road repairs
Under the supervision of senior officers, LB Nagar Traffic Police arranged tractors to bring soil to the site. Traffic personnel then filled the potholes manually to make the road safer for commuters.
The temporary repairs helped restore smoother traffic movement on the affected stretch. Local residents and motorists appreciated the police for taking the initiative. However, residents said the work offered only a temporary solution. They urged the Roads and Buildings Department or the GHMC to take up permanent repairs without delay.
People also expressed concern that the damaged road could deteriorate again during the monsoon if comprehensive repairs were not undertaken. They said a lasting solution was necessary to prevent future accidents and ensure safe travel.
