Hyderabad: A low pressure area may form in the Bay of Bengal on the 13th, the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre said.
As a result, Telangana could receive light to moderate rainfall during the following 3-4 days. However, officials said the state currently faces no threat of heavy rain.
Meteorological officer GNRS Srinivas said weather conditions did not indicate the possibility of heavy rainfall in Telangana at present. The expected system could instead bring light to moderate showers.
The weather office also reported rainfall across several districts during the last 24 hours. Nagalagidda in Sangareddy district recorded 2.35 cm of rain.
Meanwhile, Huzurabad in Karimnagar district received 2.11 cm of rainfall during the same period. Narsingi in Medak district recorded 2.03 cm.
Vailpur in Nizamabad district also received notable rainfall, measuring 1.98 cm. These readings reflected rainfall activity across several parts of the state.
Low pressure area may influence rainfall pattern
The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre said the low pressure area could affect rainfall during the next 3-4 days. However, officials did not forecast heavy rain across the state at this stage.
Telangana has currently recorded a 7 percent rainfall deficit compared with the normal rainfall. Furthermore, 13 districts have recorded a deficit of 20 percent or more.
The rainfall figures showed that some areas received significant showers during the past 24 hours. However, the overall state rainfall remained below the normal level.
Officials will continue to monitor the weather system expected to develop in the Bay of Bengal. Its formation and movement could influence rainfall conditions across Telangana in the coming days.
For now, the forecast points to light to moderate rainfall rather than widespread heavy showers. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has therefore ruled out the likelihood of heavy rain in the state at present.
