Ranga Reddy officials ordered to inspect all hostels and submit detailed reports

Hyderabad: Authorities in Ranga Reddy district must inspect all government hostels and file detailed reports on conditions related to health, education, nutrition, and sanitation.

Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Srinivas issued the directive during a review meeting held on Thursday at Victoria Memorial Home. The session brought together SC, ST, BC, and Minority Welfare Officers, along with Regional Coordinators of Residential Educational Institutions, District Coordinators, and Education Department officials.

Srinivas instructed special officers to personally inspect every hostel in their respective mandals. These inspections, he said, must evaluate medical care, teaching quality, food safety, hygiene, and infrastructure conditions.

Highlighting government priorities, he said the state is placing strong focus on improving residential school standards. Under the new education policy, officials are introducing technical instruction tailored to each subject.

He further directed hostel authorities to conduct regular medical check-ups. They must prepare health profile cards for all students, and RBSK teams should perform scheduled medical tests without fail.

In addition, hostels must use only quality vegetables and food ingredients. Electricity supply should remain uninterrupted at night. Authorities must ensure daily sanitation in dining halls, toilets, study rooms, kitchen sheds, and surrounding premises.

Srinivas urged special officers, tehsildars, and MPDOs to inspect hostels regularly. He warned that any lapses in hostel management would attract strict disciplinary action.

SC Welfare Officer Ramarao, ST Welfare Officer Rameshwari Devi, BC and Minority Welfare Officers, RCOs, and principals of residential schools also participated in the meeting.
