Hyderabad: The Rajendranagar Police, along with the Special Operations Team (SOT), cracked an interstate drug network that supplied MDMA and ganja across three states. The operation dealt a major blow to narcotics trafficking in Telangana.

Acting on credible intelligence, the police began a joint operation on November 6, 2025. They intercepted a group of drug suppliers near Aramghar X Road in Rajendranagar. Later, they detained another group of consumers near the HP petrol pump at Pillar No. 295 after follow-up leads.

The suppliers include Sangadi Santosh (26) from Kakinada, Gandhi Sandeep (23) from Bengaluru, and Kandepalli Shiva Kumar (23) from Rajahmundry. Investigators found that Santosh earlier faced charges in Cr.No. 260/2021 under the NDPS Act in Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, the main source, who managed operations through Instagram, is still on the run.

Police seize MDMA, ganja, cash, and mobile phones

The police also caught three consumers Palaka Sai Babu (25), Kotha Vishal Reddy (28), and Plishetty Sameer (24) — from Hyderabad and Rajahmundry. They used social media to buy drugs from interstate peddlers and shared them among friends.

During the raid, the police seized 17 grams of MDMA, 150 grams of ganja, five mobile phones, and ₹9,700 in cash. Officers produced all six accused before court and sent them to judicial custody. Efforts are continuing to nab the absconding supplier.

DCP praises joint operation for swift action

Deputy Commissioner of Police Yogesh Goutam, IPS, praised the Rajendranagar Police and SOT teams for their swift action. He said the officers showed great coordination and courage in dismantling the drug network. Moreover, he assured that the department would reward them for their work.

Therefore, the successful operation highlights the Cyberabad Police’s strong stance against drug trafficking and its focus on public safety.
