Hyderabad: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday urged young people to think as job creators rather than remain only job seekers. He asked them to focus on emerging technologies that could generate large-scale employment opportunities.
Kishan Reddy made the appeal while inaugurating the 20th Rozgar Mela organised by the Income Tax Department at Madhapur in Hyderabad.
The Union Minister distributed appointment letters to 360 candidates selected for various posts in different Central Government organisations.
The Government of India organised the 20th Rozgar Mela at 45 locations across the country. Appointment letters were distributed to more than 51,000 candidates during the programme.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rozgar Mela through video conferencing.
Kishan Reddy called upon the youth to contribute to the Prime Minister’s vision of transforming India into a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
He said nearly 13 lakh youth across the country had received government employment opportunities through 20 editions of the Rozgar Mela.
The Minister said the government was creating employment opportunities in public services while also promoting job creation in other sectors.
Job creators can tap emerging technologies
Kishan Reddy said India had emerged as a destination for investment. He also said the country was among the world’s leading nations in terms of the number of startups.
Against this backdrop, he urged young people to move beyond seeking employment and consider creating jobs. He said the Central government had undertaken several initiatives to support this approach.
The Union Minister identified Artificial Intelligence, robotics and semiconductors as areas with significant potential for future employment.
He also highlighted cyber security, drone technology, 3D printing and green energy as emerging sectors. Kishan Reddy encouraged young people to focus on opportunities in these fields.
