Hyderabad: BRS leader and former IPS officer Dr RS Praveen Kumar urged young people to walk for 30 minutes every day. In a post on X on Sunday, he said he walked 9.21 km in the wild that day. He said Sunday is a holiday for most people, but not for his health.
Praveen Kumar said he was not bragging. He said he shared the post because he genuinely cares for everyone around him. He also said he abhors the painful scenes in hospitals.
Praveen Kumar credits years of walking
According to him, he has no trainer and makes no excuses. He said a smartwatch, a pair of shoes and earphones have been his only companions for years. Further, he said he has so far avoided hospitalisation for any lifestyle disease. He called this his biggest achievement, ahead of medals, money or positions.
Addressing the younger generation, he said they chase money, fame, deadlines, momentary pleasure and screens. Their body pays the price silently, he said.
He asked young people to start today and walk 30 minutes daily. “Consistency beats intensity,” he said, adding that their future selves will thank them. He ended the post with the slogan “Healthy India. Wealthy India.”
