Harish Rao seeks Rs 16 lakh dues for Sangareddy unit

Sangareddy: BRS leader T Harish Rao demanded the immediate release of Rs 16 lakh in pending bills to an organisation employing persons with disabilities. In a post on X, he said not paying the bills for two years is unjust.

Harish Rao said Zubeda Begum of Sangareddy district founded the Divyang Solar Society and Divyang Garments. Through them, she provides employment to persons with disabilities, single women and widows.

According to him, the organisation stitched and supplied clothes to SC Welfare Department hostels. However, he said its Rs 16 lakh in bills for this work has been pending for the past two years.

Pending bills push unit towards closure

As a result, the organisation is facing severe financial difficulties, Harish Rao said. He added that it is struggling to pay salaries. Further, he said the unit could not repay its bank loans and now faces closure.

He called it shameful that the government is not paying even for the labour of persons with disabilities and poor women. He said the Congress government boasts about the welfare of persons with disabilities. However, he asked why it is neglecting to pay their hard-earned money.

Harish Rao demanded that the government respond at once and release the pending bills to deliver justice to those affected. He tagged the X handles of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu in the post.
