Hyderabad: Santosh Kumar, a 39-year-old mechanic, died at the Jeedimetla RTC depot after an RTC bus ran over him during repair work.
Santosh was checking the brakes of an RTC bus at the depot on Tuesday morning. He had repaired the bus after identifying a brake-related problem.
After completing the repair, Santosh remained underneath the bus before he could move clear. The driver then started the bus and moved it forward.
As a result, the bus wheels crushed Santosh, killing him at the spot. Police initially suspected driver negligence as a possible cause of the accident.
The incident occurred at the Jeedimetla RTC depot in Hyderabad. The circumstances surrounding the movement of the bus remained under investigation.
