Woman, son held for murder of live-in partner in Chintal

Hyderabad: A live-in partner murder case created panic in Chintal under the limits of Jeedimetla Police Station in Hyderabad.

Police detained a woman and her son for allegedly murdering a man who had been living with them for the past 10 years.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Shivareddy, 40, a native of Annamayya district in Andhra Pradesh.

Investigators said Shivareddy had been staying with the woman at Ambedkar Nagar in Chintal. Her son was also living in the same house.

Police suspect frequent disputes and alleged harassment led to the murder.

Live-in partner murder uncovered during midnight patrol

According to investigators, an argument broke out at the house on Sunday night.

Police suspect the woman and her son attacked Shivareddy with a meat-cutting knife and killed him.

After the murder, they allegedly packed the body in a sack and tried to dispose of it during the night.

Jeedimetla Police personnel on night patrol noticed the suspects moving suspiciously and stopped them for inspection.

During the search, police found the blood-stained body inside the sack and immediately detained the woman and her son.

Police shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem examination and registered a case for investigation.

The incident triggered concern among residents in the busy Chintal locality.
