Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Sunday described herself as the “arrow of the Bahujans” and said she would pursue an independent political path based on social justice. She was speaking at the Panchajanya Sankalpa Sabha at Kosgi in the Kodangal Assembly constituency.
Kavitha rejected claims that established political parties were backing her. She responded to descriptions of her as an “arrow released by the BRS” or a “Congress arrow” and said her political approach was rooted in the principles of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule.
She said she was prepared to take on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kavitha also questioned the progress made under successive male-dominated administrations since the formation of Telangana 12 years ago.
According to Kavitha, farmers, youth, women and employees remained dissatisfied with the existing political situation. She said these sections needed greater attention in governance and policy-making.
Kavitha promises different model of governance
Kavitha sought an opportunity from voters to present what she described as a distinct model of administration. She said her approach would be guided by “the empathy of a mother” and focused on the welfare of marginalised sections.
She reiterated that her political initiative would seek to establish an independent identity rather than operate as an extension of established political parties.
