Vamsi Krishna vows to carry forward Kaka Venkataswamy’s ideals

Hyderabad: Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna pledged on Monday to carry forward the Kaka Venkataswamy ideals through youth employment, social welfare and justice for the poor. He made the commitment while remembering his grandfather and veteran Telangana leader Kaka Venkataswamy.

Speaking at a commemorative programme at Ravindra Bharathi, Vamsi Krishna recalled Kaka’s contribution to the Telangana movement. He also highlighted the veteran leader’s work for workers and weaker sections.

The programme marked Kaka Venkataswamy’s 97th birth anniversary. Earlier, Vamsi Krishna paid floral tributes to Kaka’s statue at Tank Bund.

Describing Kaka as a committed Telangana warrior, Vamsi Krishna recalled his determination during the statehood movement. He said Kaka continued the struggle despite suffering a bullet injury and lived to see Telangana become a reality.

The MP said Kaka had worked to secure house sites and housing rights for lakhs of poor people and workers. He added that he was pursuing a demand in Parliament to raise workers’ monthly pension from Rs.500 to Rs.10,000.

Vamsi Krishna also recalled Kaka’s role in reviving the Ramagundam Fertilizers Corporation Limited (RFCL). He said efforts would continue to protect the fertiliser plant and ensure adequate urea supplies for Telangana farmers.

The MP highlighted TOMCOM and Advanced Technology Centres as initiatives focused on overseas employment and modern skills. He said these efforts would help create employment opportunities for Telangana’s youth.

Kaka Venkataswamy ideals linked to irrigation and youth welfare

Referring to the Pranahita-Chevella project, Vamsi Krishna said efforts were underway to revive Kaka’s vision for irrigation. He said the project was aimed at providing irrigation to about 2.5 lakh acres in the Adilabad region.

The MP also linked Kaka Venkataswamy ideals to public welfare and social justice. He said his efforts would continue along the path set by the veteran leader.

Vamsi Krishna said the focus would remain on employment, welfare and opportunities for weaker sections. He also highlighted the need to protect industrial and agricultural interests in Telangana.

The commemorative programme brought attention to Kaka’s political legacy and his work for workers and disadvantaged communities. Vamsi Krishna reiterated his commitment to carrying forward those priorities.
