Uttam Kumar Reddy backs journalists’ house site demand

Hyderabad: Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday assured support for the long-pending demand for journalists house sites in Telangana.

Representatives of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Journalists Housing Societies met the Minister at the Secretariat and submitted a memorandum seeking allocation of house sites for journalists.

The delegation informed Uttam Kumar Reddy that the issue had remained unresolved for several years. They said thousands of journalists had been waiting for a solution since the formation of Telangana.

Journalists house sites demand raised before Minister

The JAC representatives explained the need for journalists house sites and briefed the Minister on previous discussions held at the government level.

They also outlined the current status of the issue and requested government intervention for an early resolution.

Responding to the representation, Uttam Kumar Reddy described the demand as genuine and justified.

According to the JAC representatives, the Minister assured them of his support for the demand.

“Journalists’ house are a genuine and justified demand. I will certainly support this issue and extend my cooperation for a positive solution at the government level,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said.

The delegation that met the Minister included JAC representatives UGV Muralikrishna, Brahmandabheri Goparaju, M. Ravindra Babu, Suraj Bharadwaj and Srinivas.
