Hyderabad: Telangana is working to emerge as a global logistics hub through the creation of a future-ready ecosystem capable of meeting emerging opportunities and challenges in the sector, Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Friday.
Addressing the International Conference on Shipping and Logistics 2026 organised by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) at HICC, the Minister said the logistics sector would play a crucial role in achieving the objectives of Telangana Rising–2047.
He said the government’s long-term vision focused on strengthening infrastructure, improving connectivity and building a competitive logistics ecosystem.
Global logistics hub strategy focuses on infrastructure
Highlighting Telangana’s export performance, Sridhar Babu said the state ranked eighth in the Export Preparedness Index and second among landlocked states.
He also noted that Telangana ranked seventh nationally in merchandise exports, reflecting sustained industrial growth.
The Minister said the government aimed to transform Telangana’s landlocked geography into a strategic advantage through infrastructure-led development.
Under the proposed Logistics Policy 2.0, the state plans to promote mega multimodal logistics parks, dry ports, bonded warehousing facilities and integrated logistics hubs.
Global logistics hub plan emphasises technology and skills
Sridhar Babu said the logistics sector required a skilled workforce to meet future demands.
Accordingly, the government is preparing an action plan to encourage the adoption of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics and machine learning across logistics operations.
He said these technologies would improve efficiency, productivity and competitiveness.
The Minister also invited investments in multimodal logistics infrastructure, rail-linked facilities, air cargo operations, cold-chain networks and Grade-A warehousing.
In addition, he sought investments in automation, digital logistics platforms and green mobility solutions.
Sridhar Babu assured industry stakeholders that the government would continue creating a business-friendly environment to support investments and sectoral growth.
