Komatireddy promises CC roads and 24×7 drinking water for Nalgonda

Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy said Nalgonda infrastructure development would include cement concrete (CC) roads, underground drainage and round-the-clock drinking water supply for every household across all divisions of Nalgonda town.

The Minister made the announcement after distributing Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques worth ₹64.07 lakh to 64 beneficiaries at the Nalgonda Tahsildar office on Sunday.

He said officials had already started CC road and underground drainage works in several divisions of the Nalgonda Municipal Corporation. He said the projects would improve civic infrastructure across the town.

Nalgonda infrastructure development gains momentum

Komatireddy Venkata Reddy said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy recently laid the foundation stone for an ₹83-crore drinking water plant. He added that the government also sanctioned ₹300 crore to strengthen the town’s drinking water infrastructure.

The Minister said Nalgonda’s elevation to a Municipal Corporation would help the town secure up to ₹1,000 crore in Central development funds.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, he said the government was issuing ration cards and supplying fine rice to all eligible beneficiaries. He added that the government had sanctioned 700 Indiramma houses. Eligible land-owning families can apply for the housing scheme this year.

Furthermore, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy said the government was extending interest-free loans to promote women’s economic empowerment.

MLC Shankar Naik praised the State government’s welfare programmes. He credited the Minister with accelerating Nalgonda infrastructure development.

Earlier, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy inspected the progress of a major drainage project at Sai Nagar. He directed officials to speed up the work. He also reviewed AMRUT-2 projects taken up by the Nalgonda Municipal Corporation.
