Vision 2047 aims to position Telangana as global economic hub: Komatireddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday said Vision 2047 Telangana will drive transformative infrastructure development to turn the State into a globally competitive economic hub.

Addressing the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, the Minister said the State is entering a high-growth phase under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He welcomed international investors and experts to participate in shaping Telangana’s long-term development roadmap.

New road policy, expressways, and dry port announced

Komatireddy announced Telangana’s first comprehensive Road Sector Policy, designed to define priorities and guide investments over the next 20 years. He said robust transport infrastructure is critical to economic growth.

Key initiatives include the Regional Ring Road with radial links, Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) projects worth ₹11,399 crore, and a proposed 8-lane Greenfield express highway linking the Telugu State capitals. An elevated corridor to Srisailam is also planned.

He further said Telangana would become a logistics powerhouse through the establishment of a world-class dry port. This facility will provide direct global trade access and increase industrial competitiveness.

Rail and aviation upgrades in focus

The Minister highlighted rail sector modernisation as a priority. Planned upgrades include international-standard stations, enhanced regional rail networks, dedicated freight corridors, and future bullet train projects.

In aviation, the State aims to develop a supportive ecosystem for business travel, cargo logistics, and tourism growth.

Komatireddy also said Telangana is expanding its public health network by developing TIMS hospitals that will offer free, world-class healthcare services.

Global benchmarks and open partnerships

“Telangana does not compare itself with neighbouring States. Our benchmarks are Japan, Singapore, Germany, South Korea and China,” Komatireddy said. He urged investors and policy experts to bring innovation and strategic partnerships that align with the State’s mobility and infrastructure vision.

“Telangana is not just growing Telangana is rising,” he concluded, ahead of a panel session on infrastructure-led growth.
