Hyderabad: Hyderabad CCS Police have asked DFI scam victims to submit their deposit and investment details to facilitate recovery proceedings in the Dhanwantari Foundation International (DFI) fraud case.
Investigators said the information would help authorities identify eligible claimants and process the distribution of recovered assets.
Police registered a case against DFI Trust director Dr. P. Kamalakar Sharma and others for allegedly collecting deposits by promising high returns.
According to investigators, the accused primarily targeted members of the Brahmin community and allegedly lured senior citizens and other investors with assurances of substantial profits within a specified period.
The trust and its promoters allegedly collected around ₹516 crore from more than 2,000 investors.
DFI scam victims may benefit from asset recovery
Police said investigators had already arrested key accused in the case.
Authorities also identified assets worth hundreds of crores that are allegedly linked to the fraud.
The properties include nearly 450 acres of land across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
In addition, investigators identified about 3,000 square yards of commercial space in a prime area of Hyderabad.
Officials said courts had upheld government orders attaching these properties as part of the recovery process.
DFI scam victims needed for claimant verification
Police said details submitted by DFI scam victims would help authorities prepare the final list of claimants.
The verification process is expected to ensure equitable distribution of funds among eligible investors.
Authorities plan to distribute proceeds after the auction of attached assets and completion of legal procedures.
Investigators urged depositors to submit accurate investment records to support the recovery exercise.
The police said claimant information would play a crucial role in determining compensation during the settlement process.
