Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police solved the Mina Devi murder case and arrested the victim’s husband, Anil Kumar Sah, along with an alleged hired gang member from Bihar.
Police said 36-year-old Mina Devi was murdered within the limits of IDA Bollaram Police Station following a conspiracy allegedly hatched by her husband.
Investigators alleged that Anil Kumar Sah arranged the murder after prolonged domestic disputes.
According to police, he paid ₹2 lakh to a criminal gang led by Bihar-based Rinku Kumar to eliminate his wife.
The accused allegedly planned the crime in Hyderabad before carrying it out on May 30 near Gandigudam village.
Mina Devi murder case linked to alleged contract killing
Police said Anil Kumar Sah attempted to mislead investigators after the murder.
He allegedly fabricated a story claiming that unknown assailants had abducted and killed his wife.
Investigators also alleged that he inflicted minor injuries on himself to strengthen the false narrative.
During the investigation, police traced the conspiracy and identified the alleged involvement of hired gang members.
One accused, Ranjan, was arrested in Bihar and brought to Hyderabad on a transit warrant.
Police said efforts were continuing to apprehend the remaining accused, Rinku Kumar and Neeraj.
Mina Devi murder case solved after multi-team investigation
The investigation was conducted by teams from the RC Puram Division and the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Cyberabad Police.
Officials formed eight teams to track the accused and gather evidence.
Police carried out extensive inquiries before cracking the Mina Devi murder case and arresting the suspects.
According to investigators, Anil Kumar Sah allegedly harboured resentment against his wife for several years.
Police claimed he was upset because she had been sending much of his earnings to her parents during the past three years.
Investigators further alleged that relations deteriorated after he suffered an accident and became physically weak.
Police said he claimed that his wife neglected him after the accident, which allegedly motivated the crime.
The arrested accused were being produced before the court, while the investigation continued.
