One arrested in Keesara minor sexual assault case, two accused absconding

Hyderabad: Police arrested one accused in the Keesara minor sexual assault case and launched a search for two others. Relatives allegedly assaulted the minor girl within the Keesara Police Station limits.

The case surfaced after the girl told people near her about the alleged abuse. Subsequently, they alerted the authorities, and police registered a case. Investigators identified three relatives as accused in the case. However, police withheld the survivor’s identity to protect her privacy under the law.

Police continue Keesara minor sexual assault investigation

Keesara Circle Inspector Anjaneyulu said police had arrested one accused. Meanwhile, investigators believe the other two suspects had travelled to Maharashtra. Therefore, special police teams began searching for the absconding accused. Officers also continued gathering evidence connected to the alleged offences.

Police arranged a medical examination for the survivor and completed the required legal procedures. In addition, authorities moved her to a government care facility for protection and support. Anjaneyulu said police would take strict legal action against everyone involved. He also said the department would not tolerate sexual offences against children.
