Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao said on Sunday that no government can erase the legacy of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in strengthening Telangana’s healthcare system.
In a post on X, KTR shared a video highlighting the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) project and other major initiatives taken up during the BRS regime. He said KCR had laid a strong foundation for public health by setting up medical colleges in every district, establishing new hospitals at mandal and district level, and opening basti dawakhans for the urban poor.
KTR demands speedy completion of TIMS and other hospitals
KTR pointed out that the previous government had launched a massive healthcare expansion plan. This included four 1,000-bed TIMS hospitals around Hyderabad, a 2,200-bed super-specialty hospital in Warangal, and expansion of NIMS with an additional 2,000 beds.
“These projects reflect KCR’s vision for a healthier Telangana,” KTR said, adding that such steps would remain in history. He accused the Congress government of neglecting the ongoing hospital projects and delaying benefits to the public.
“If the Congress had not ignored construction, these facilities would already be serving people with modern infrastructure,” he remarked. KTR urged the state to complete the projects on a war footing and make the new hospitals operational without delay.
