Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials launched simultaneous raids at multiple locations linked to Warangal Deputy Collector Venkat Reddy on Wednesday morning. The action follows allegations that the officer amassed assets disproportionate to his known income.
The raids began after Reddy was caught red-handed last month while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹60,000. The bribe was reportedly taken in exchange for renewing recognition documents for a private school.
As part of the ongoing investigation, ACB teams carried out searches at about ten locations across Telangana. These included the residences of Venkat Reddy and his relatives in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Warangal, and Hanamkonda.
ACB DSP Sambayya confirmed the raids were related to the earlier bribery case. Two other government employees were also taken into custody along with Reddy.
Authorities have not yet disclosed full details of the properties or assets uncovered during the operation.
