He said the Urea App had improved transparency in fertiliser distribution. According to the minister, digital tracking had curbed fake billing, illegal stockpiling and diversion of subsidised fertiliser. He also warned that the government would take stringent action against anyone who misused urea meant for farmers.
The minister said Telangana currently has 3.64 lakh metric tonnes of urea in stock. He added that the state had procured 5.62 lakh metric tonnes out of the six lakh metric tonnes allocated by the Centre.
Further, he said farmers had booked 52.30 lakh urea bags through the app. Of these, they had already purchased 46.03 lakh bags. Meanwhile, 79.29 lakh bags remain available across Telangana, he added.
