Hyderabad: MLC Amer Ali Khan launched a large-scale overseas jobs drive in Hyderabad in partnership with the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Ltd. (TOMCOM), aiming to connect Muslim youth with international employment opportunities. The event drew hundreds of aspirants to the Siasat Auditorium.
The drive, jointly organised by Siasat Hub Foundation (S-Hub) and TOMCOM, saw participation from job-seekers trained in IT, computer science, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and other technical fields. Recruitment officials from TOMCOM, including District Employment Officer Shabna and officer-in-charge Ritesh Kumar Mishra, supervised the screening.
Amer Ali Khan, who also edits Siasat News, framed the effort as a continuation of The Siasat Daily’s long-standing community support. He recalled how the paper offered free classified ads during the Gulf job boom in the 1980s to support economically marginalised Muslims seeking work abroad.
According to Khan, the new collaboration with TOMCOM marks a structured shift in recruitment. He said the Telangana government is now actively identifying overseas job openings and routing them through institutional channels like TOMCOM and S-Hub.

An MoU signed between S-Hub and TOMCOM will facilitate a series of such programmes, he said, helping youth access credible overseas job options. “This is about economic empowerment, not just migration,” Khan said.
He also pledged to lift one lakh families out of financial hardship before his MLC term ends in January 2030. Citing Islamic teachings, he called job placement a perpetual act of community service.
Attendees were guided through the application process by TOMCOM staff and S-Hub Director Zahed Farooqui. Many interacted with Khan during the event and expressed faith in his roadmap.
Khan added that future S-Hub partnerships would expand to other departments, creating wider pipelines to domestic and international employment.
