Hyderabad: Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner reviewed Suraram civic issues during a visit under the One Ward Every Day programme. The Commissioner directed departments to inspect residents’ concerns on priority and prepare estimates for required works.
The Commissioner visited Suraram Ward along with the Zonal Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner. Officials from various departments also joined the inspection.
During the visit, the officials interacted with Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWAs) and local residents. They reviewed civic problems, infrastructure requirements and development priorities across the ward.
Suraram civic issues include roads, drainage and water supply
Residents sought improvements to roads, cement concrete roads and internal infrastructure. They also raised concerns about storm water drains, underground drainage and drinking water supply.
In addition, residents requested streetlights and high-mast lights at identified locations. They also sought development of parks and protection of open spaces. Residents raised the issue of encroachments and sought stronger sanitation services. Furthermore, they highlighted traffic management and public safety requirements.
The demands included speed breakers at necessary locations and other measures to improve road safety. Residents also sought better community facilities and development of the graveyard. They requested proper maintenance of existing public amenities as part of the ward’s development programme.
Suraram civic issues to get phased attention
After reviewing the concerns, the Commissioner directed the departments concerned to inspect each issue on priority. Officials were also asked to prepare necessary estimates wherever required.
The Commissioner instructed departments to take up the identified works in phases. The directions aimed to ensure timely action on civic and infrastructure requirements raised by Suraram residents.
The One Ward Every Day visit also enabled residents and RWAs to directly present local priorities before senior municipal officials. Officials assessed the requirements on the ground before initiating further departmental action.
