GHMC to upgrade grievance call centre, clears key infra projects

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has approved a proposal to hand over public grievance reception, management, server upgrades, and call centre operations to the Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI). The decision was taken during the GHMC Standing Committee meeting chaired by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi on Thursday.

Currently, the call centre has seating capacity for only 10 operators. GHMC has now decided to set up an inbound call centre with 50 seats to improve response times. The proposal was among 18 agenda items and six table items approved at the meeting held at the Command Control Centre in the GHMC head office.

Key approvals include storm drains, flyovers, and road widening

Among major projects cleared:

  • Construction of a storm water drain in Ward 100, Sanathnagar (Circle-17), opposite Zen Technologies Industrial Area to prevent water stagnation.
  • Approval for road development plan and acquisition of seven properties to expand the road from Owaisi Junction flyover to Santosh Nagar up to 45 meters wide.
  • Revised road plan under H-City for a 4-lane uni-directional road at Rasoolpura Junction, ranging from 15 to 30 meters wide.
  • Acquisition of 26 properties near Secunderabad Cantonment for road expansion, pending clearance from the Cantonment Board CEO.
  • Administrative approval sought for flyover or ROB around AOC Centre under H-City project.
  • Revised approval for parallel ROB to the existing broad-gauge line at Falaknuma.

GHMC pushes ahead with civic and sports infrastructure

Other key decisions:

  • Establishment of a primary food testing lab at a multipurpose function hall in KPHB Phase-4, Moosapet Circle (Ward 114), with a budget of ₹5 crore.
  • Approval to call an RFP for construction and operation of a multi-level parking complex near Khilwat, Chowmahalla Palace on DBFOT basis for 15 years.
  • Consent to invite tenders for managing 10 sports complexes in Khairatabad Zone and leasing the Khajaguda Sports Complex in Serilingampally (Circle-20) for maintenance.
  • Green light for the promotion of O. Veeranand as Assistant Director of Sports.
  • ₹5 crore administrative sanction ratified for restoration work on the Fatehnagar flyover.
  • Inclusion of 106 properties for acquisition and widening of Master Plan roads from Fatehbowli to Nanalnagar junctions, expanding roads from 45m to 68.9m.

  • Land swap approval under GHMC Act to exchange Hill Lock land in Jubilee Hills with privately-owned land.
