Minister Sridhar Babu inaugurates Shastripuram ROB in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Minister Sridhar Babu inaugurated the Shastripuram Railway Over Bridge (ROB), marking a key infrastructure addition to Hyderabad’s road network.

GHMC constructed the railway over bridge at a cost of ₹71 crore. The project spans 490 metres and features a four-lane carriageway to handle traffic flow efficiently.

Officials executed the project in coordination with South Central Railway. The bridge connects Mailardevpally to Falaknuma via the RTC Bus Depot stretch.

Shastripuram ROB improves connectivity and reduces travel time

The new ROB will ease congestion at the Uddamgadda railway level crossing. As a result, commuters will experience smoother movement along this busy corridor.

The project enhances connectivity between Mailardevpally, Vattepally, Falaknuma and surrounding areas. Moreover, it is expected to reduce travel time by nearly 30 minutes.

Officials said the bridge will also cut fuel consumption and help reduce air pollution. In addition, the four-lane design ensures better traffic management on the route.

The ROB includes a 37.28-metre railway span and a 16.60-metre-wide deck. Engineers used steel girders, RCC structures and modern bearings to ensure durability and safety.

Authorities stated that the facility is now open to the public and will support faster, safer commuting in the southern part of the city.
