Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (HCU) secured a place in the QS World Rankings 2027, earning a position in the 851-900 band in the latest global rankings released by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
QS announced the rankings on Thursday after assessing universities worldwide on multiple parameters, including teaching quality, academic reputation and research performance. The international survey evaluated institutions across a wide range of academic disciplines and educational indicators.
The university secured recognition for its academic standards and the performance of its faculty members. According to QS, HCU performed strongly in several key evaluation areas and strengthened its standing among leading higher education institutions.

Meanwhile, QS highlighted that 98.1 per cent of the university’s faculty members hold PhD qualifications. The ranking agency identified this as one of the institution’s notable strengths.
The rankings were finalised after evaluating more than 1,500 universities across the world. QS assessed various academic programmes and examined over 100 higher education indicators before preparing the final list.
Reacting to the achievement, HCU In-Charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. J. Anuradha expressed satisfaction over the international recognition.
She said the ranking reflected the university’s commitment to academic excellence and quality research. She added that the achievement would motivate the institution to further improve educational standards and strengthen its global standing.
Prof. Anuradha said the recognition had increased the university’s responsibility to maintain high academic benchmarks and pursue continuous improvement in teaching and research.
