Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijaya Lakshmi asked officials to inaugurate all completed development works across Greater Hyderabad immediately.
She directed officials to involve local corporators and public representatives in every inauguration programme. At the same time, she asked departments to speed up pending work.
The Mayor issued the directions during the 11th Standing Committee meeting held on Thursday. The meeting took place at the GHMC headquarters command control room.
The Standing Committee approved 21 regular agenda items and 23 additional agenda items. It also discussed eight table items, approving six and referring two to the Council.
GHMC Commissioner R. V. Karnan, Standing Committee members, additional commissioners, zonal commissioners, engineers, and senior officials attended the meeting.
GHMC standing committee clears key civic works and projects
During the meeting, the committee cleared several civic and infrastructure works. These included approvals for stormwater drains and sewer lines in Sanathnagar and Fatehnagar.
The committee also approved road development works in Patel Nagar, LB Nagar, Alwal, Kapra, Masjidbanda, and the surrounding areas. In addition, it cleared proposals for parks, traffic islands, sports facilities, and market areas.
Members approved skill training programmes under CSR, park maintenance works, and user charges for sports centres. They also cleared staff promotions, appointments, attendance systems, and digital platforms.
The committee approved health facilities, including a 50-bed community health centre at Yakutpura. It also cleared repair works for flyovers, bridges, and drains across the city.
For table items, the committee sent two proposals to the Council. These included installing a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Barkatpura Junction and naming a road in LB Nagar after the late Vanga Madhusudan Reddy.
It also approved flyovers, road junction upgrades, ward office buildings, and traffic improvement works at busy locations.
The Mayor said timely execution and public confidence remained the GHMC’s priority. She asked officials to ensure faster delivery of civic services across Hyderabad.
