Hyderabad: Representatives of Left student unions met BRS working president and MLA K. T. Rama Rao on Saturday and invited him to attend a round-table conference on the alleged NEET (UG) paper leak issue.
The meeting took place at KTR’s residence in Nandini Nagar ahead of the proposed conference scheduled for May 20 in Hyderabad.
BRSV state vice president Dr. Thunga Balu coordinated the interaction. Discussions focused on alleged irregularities in national-level competitive examinations.
Student leaders said the alleged NEET paper leak had created anxiety among lakhs of students and parents across the country.
The delegation alleged that repeated examination paper leaks during the Modi-led government had raised concerns over the credibility of the examination system.
They said the issue had become more serious in sectors linked to medical education and professional courses.
NEET paper leak meet planned under JAC banner
The round-table conference is being organized under the banner of the Joint Action Committee of Left student unions.
Participating organisations include AISF, SFI, PDSU, PDSU (Vijrumbhana), GR PDSU, AIDSO and AIFDS.
The student unions said the conference would discuss measures to protect students’ futures and address examination irregularities.
They also planned to deliberate on steps needed to strengthen transparency and accountability in competitive examinations.
The delegation that met KTR included Gyara Naresh from AISF, Kiran and Ashok Reddy from SFI, and Podipongi Nagaraju and P. Mahesh from PDSU.
Dr. S. Nageswara Rao and N. Sumanth from GR PDSU, along with Alluri Vijay from PDSU-Vijrumbhana, also attended the meeting.
