Hyderabad: A couple died by suicide in Nizamabad amid financial distress, leaving their two young children orphaned. Police registered a case following a complaint from the woman’s father and began an investigation.
Naresh, 38, worked as a junior assistant in the Electricity Department at the Nizamabad district headquarters. He lived with his wife Meghana, 34, and their sons, Ayansh, 9, and Mithun, 7.
According to the information provided, the couple had borrowed Rs 90 lakh a few months earlier to purchase a house. They had planned to clear the debt after securing a loan against the property. However, the expected loan did not materialise. Naresh subsequently sold the newly purchased house and used the proceeds to repay part of the debt.

Even after the house was sold, some debt remained unpaid. Relatives said Naresh had been worried about the outstanding amount. They also said he had been receiving treatment from a psychiatrist amid his distress over the financial situation.
The Nizamabad couple suicide occurred after the two children had left for school. Naresh died by hanging, while Meghana consumed pesticide, according to the information provided. Their deaths left nine-year-old Ayansh and seven-year-old Mithun without their parents.
Meghana’s father subsequently approached the police and lodged a complaint. Based on his complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation into the deaths. Further details about the circumstances surrounding the couple’s debts were not provided.
