Hyderabad: Telangana Youth Congress State General Secretary Mohammed Almas Khan demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging that repeated examination paper leaks had damaged the future of crores of students across the country.
Speaking on the issue of examination irregularities, Almas Khan said more than 90 paper leaks had undermined the credibility of competitive, recruitment and entrance examinations. He alleged that students who spent years preparing for these tests had suffered due to corruption, negligence and administrative failures within the education system.
Referring to controversies surrounding examinations such as NEET and other recruitment tests, he said students had repeatedly faced uncertainty despite their hard work. According to him, the situation had eroded trust in the examination process and raised serious concerns about accountability.
Dharmendra Pradhan resignation demand gains momentum
Questioning the continuation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Union Education Minister, Almas Khan said the minister could not avoid responsibility when examination systems had come under scrutiny. He asserted that moral accountability rested with the minister and called for immediate action.
Almas Khan also accused the BJP of targeting individuals and groups that questioned government decisions. He said those demanding justice for students were being ignored rather than heard. Drawing a comparison with past protests, he alleged that critics of the government were often labelled instead of being engaged through dialogue.
The Youth Congress leader praised Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for consistently raising concerns related to examination paper leaks. He said Rahul Gandhi had amplified the voices of students and highlighted their grievances when they felt neglected by the authorities.
Furthermore, Almas Khan welcomed the nationwide #ChhatronKiGoonj campaign launched by the Indian Youth Congress and NSUI. He described the initiative as a movement aimed at taking student concerns to districts and cities across the country. He said the campaign sought justice, accountability and reforms to protect the future of young people.
Concluding his remarks, Almas Khan demanded strict action against those involved in examination scams and called for reforms to restore public confidence in examinations. He said the youth of India were seeking answers and accountability from the Union Government rather than explanations.
