Hyderabad: Minister for Labour, Employment, Training, Factories and Mines Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said women can achieve extraordinary success in every field when they receive opportunities and encouragement. He made the remarks while addressing the Women empowerment conference held during the launch of the India Chapter of the Women Empowerment Telugu Association (WETA) at Jubilee Hills Convention Centre in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The conference focused on women’s empowerment, employment opportunities and the global contribution of rural women. A large number of women, young professionals and students attended the event. WETA Founder Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy organized the programme. Ministers Seethakka, Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman also attended along with other dignitaries.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy praised organizations such as WETA for creating platforms that support women. He said such initiatives should expand further to strengthen women economically, socially and politically. He added that women have already demonstrated excellence in education, employment, entrepreneurship, administration and politics.
Women empowerment conference showcases inspiring journeys
The Minister described the journey of WETA Founder Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy as an inspiring example of determination and growth. He said she began as a homemaker, became a successful entrepreneur, established WETA in the United States and later expanded its activities to India. According to him, her story showed how women can reach greater heights when society provides the right support.
He also appreciated women leaders such as Yashaswini Reddy, who moved from managing households to participating in public life. He said their leadership had earned public trust and demonstrated the importance of greater representation of women in politics and decision-making roles.
Furthermore, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said women play a vital role in social development and that inclusive growth cannot be achieved without their active participation. He noted that women in his own family had succeeded in education, professional careers and business. Therefore, he stressed that family support, especially encouragement from men, remains important for women’s progress.
The Minister urged families to respect women’s time, efforts and ambitions. He said the voices of women who manage families while contributing to society deserved stronger recognition. He added that confidence and determination enable women to achieve any goal. In conclusion, he expressed confidence that programmes planned by the WETA India Telangana Chapter would empower women, young girls and students. He also extended his best wishes to Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy, the organizing team and WETA members.
