Governor Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurates IIED Cell at RGUKT Basar

Hyderabad: Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) Basar took a step forward in promoting innovation after Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma virtually inaugurated the Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development (IIED) Cell on Thursday.

The Governor approved funds from his discretionary quota to set up the IIED Cell at Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Basar. Officials said the support would help build basic facilities and assist early-stage startups.

RGUKT was created to provide technical education to rural youth, the Governor said. Through the new cell, the university will further encourage students to become innovators and entrepreneurs.

Through the IIED Cell, students will receive mentorship, workspace and industry support. The cell will also guide students in launching startups.

Its focus will remain on agriculture, healthcare and sustainability-related solutions. Officials said these areas address real and local challenges.

The Governor urged students to innovate with strong ethics and social responsibility. He stressed that growth must benefit all sections of society.

Expressing confidence, he said RGUKT Basar could emerge as a key innovation hub under the Viksit Bharat vision. He also assured continued support to strengthen the IIED Cell.
